Why You Need A Coach

I’m a former University of South Carolina college athlete.

One of the main commonalities between sports and leadership is that you need to have a coach.

As a leader, sometimes your job is to execute while other times you need to be evaluated.

Many challenges that leaders face come from thinking they can do both on their own.

Every person that reaches their highest level of success has a coach.

Serena Williams is one of the greatest athletes of all time on the planet.

She has a coach.

Michael Jordan, another one of the greatest athletes, had coaches.

He wasn’t a championship performer in the NBA until Phil Jackson became his coach.

When Tiger Woods was at the top of his game, every time he hit a ball, he’d turn his head to look at someone.

That someone was his coach.

Everybody needs a coach.

If you don’t have a coach, you’re going to fall off.

What got you here won’t keep you here unless you have someone to help develop you.

You need someone to give feedback on things you’re doing wrong and what’s actually working well.

If Serena Williams, Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods need a coach, then you need one as well.

I’ve had a personal coach for many years to help me become a better leader.

I know that I can’t help you without helping myself.

I can’t help myself if I think I’ve got all the answers.

I know I need someone to help me, so I invest in a coach.

Find someone to coach you to your success.

If you want to become a more successful executive, find a coach.

The best healthcare organizations I know make sure all of their senior leaders have a personal executive coach.

It’s the only way to optimize performance and achieve the highest level of success.

You need a coach.

If you need help finding a coach, connect with me on LinkedIn and let me know.

I can help you find someone that’ll help you grow as a leader.
